As the world’s first Post-Op Transsexual Two-Spirit Shaman and Chi Gung master, as well as an author (Chi Gung: Chinese Healing, Energy, and Natural Magick), I have used Oprah’s wonderful book to help to get me into the kind of shape and to have the confidence I need in my new feminine body in order to practice the type of energy healing that I do. Basically I spend most of my time helping and healing plants, animals, and people as I am guided to them by God, and with His Blessing, I have successfully helped cases ranging from migraines and insomnia to infertility, strokes, and even ovarian cancer. Because my work periodically literally involves traumatic life and death situations, it is vital that I be in the best shape possible. And Oprah’s book has helped me to do just that.

Please read this wonderful book. It can truly make a difference in your life and it can help you to make a difference in the lives of others. I know from personal experience that it has helped me to develop a wonderful body and also to have the confidence I need to walk the path that God has chosen for me as a Two-Spirit Shaman. If Oprah’s book can make a transsexual like me into a beautiful woman and healer, it certainly can help you too.

Ms. Winfrey is famous for experiencing somatic changes as regular and dramatic of those of the fabled Incredible Hulk. For this reason one is tempted to dismiss any advice that she might proffer on the topics of diet, nutrition, or general bodily health. However after going through so many visibly successful “slimming phases,” Winfrey has arguably shed more pounds in the aggregate than the ill-fated Donner Party, and her directives should not be taken lightly. I myself followed this wonderful disk’s program for several weeks before my second wedding, and was able to wow my betrothed with a slender new physique in time for our romantic yet financially disastrous trip to Petit St. Vicent. Sadly just like its esteemed narrator, I fell into a subsequent bout of severe gluttony that rapidly erased my hard-won gains. However I took heart in Ms. Winfrey’s own phoenix-like dieting program, convinced that one day success would again be mine. I found the quiet example of Winfrey’s co-reader, Bob Greene, to be no less inspiring. Greene is an object lesson in tenacity and dedication as he daily addresses the Sisyphean task of being Ms. Winfrey’s personal trainer.

How sad that a successful, well-liked, talented, beautiful woman presents the ultimate goal in life as going from being controlled by those who harmed her in youth to being controlled by a trainer! The reviewer who stated “you can’t lose weight if youn eat like a pig” has a contemptible view of those overweight, but that is to be expected when Oprah places such stress on what is a totally invalid viewpoint – but, for her, a most profitable venture.

As an ex-bulimic/anorexic, I have probably read every diet book there is. I’m sure it’s easy to lose weight if you have your own personal chief and trainer, but how many of us do? What happens to Oprah, when she no longer has these luxuries? I also worry about the fact that Oprah was trying to weigh considerably less than her set point-how many people are going to do 2 hours of exercise a day (besides athletes)? I mean really!

Loveable lunk Bob Greene and shock jock Oprah weave a magical tapestry of laughs, love, and life. What really spoke to me was the obviously deep connection the two felt toward each other as they ate, exercised, and loved their way across the country. I will surely be inspired to lose the weight I need to regain a happy and healthy life. Thank you Bob and Oprah! I don’t know what I would do without you to show me the way!
