There is great hype built around drug and alcohol rehab centers all around the world. One would think that it is a place for the worst people in the world. We forget that there are places like prisons where all of the murderers and rapists go. For some reason we tend to scorn on people who come out of or go into a drug and alcohol rehab center
We must not forget that these people are merely people with problems, and even though they have become a little bit of a menace to society, they did not really hurt anyone – if they did, they would be in jail.
There is no reason for us to look at rehabilitated people as if they did the world of wrong. These people can be forgiven for what they have done, because they merely lost the battle with the world.
They let the pressures of life get the better of them; you cannot say that you never do at least one thing that takes the stress off of your daily life, whether it is sport or drugs.
The point is that they are not the scum of the world, especially because they are in these centers to get help. It has been proven that the drug and alcohol rehab centers that have been set up all around the world do actually make a difference in people’s lives.
They have gone through the steps and they know what they have done wrong. In a way, they are ahead of you and me in life, because they have experienced real pain.
